Elk River Offers Autism Classes Feb & Mar 2022
Elk River Community Ed is offering two different Autism Classes.
On March 9, 2022 there is an Early Childhood Autism focus (Birth - 7)
On February 24 and March 22nd there is a Transition age autism focus (14-24)
It is for all adults who care for children with Autism.

Classes on February 8th and March 9th highlight early intervention services for children

§ The focus of this workshop is to support young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families, caregivers, educators, providers, and advocates. This session will provide a clearer understanding of Minnesota's system of supports and services. A representative from the Minnesota Department of Human Services will provide an overview of what services are available in education, health care, public health, and social services - and how to best access those services. This session will focus on early intervention strategies and supports for children from birth to 7 years old. An emphasis will be placed on how people can advocate for better-coordinated services, with ample time for questions and discussion.

This session will focus on transitional age services, supports and healthcare coverage, and is ideal for school-aged children to young adults. An emphasis will be placed on how people can advocate for better-coordinated services, with ample time for questions and discussion.
